Andrei Iliushkin joined the Musicians' Company Young Artists' Programme after he was awarded our Carnwath Piano Scholarship in 2018. Here he performs Bach's Prelude and Fugue in C sharp minor (book 2). Andrei says: "I have been performing as a soloist in various renowned concert halls throughout the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Japan, Norway and the UK, as well as collaborating with orchestras of London, Moscow, Rostov, Yaroslavl and Shenzhen. Following my London debut on stage at Wigmore Hall in October 2015 as a finalist of the Jaques Samuel Piano Competition, I gave a recital at the prestigious St. Martin-in-the-Fields as the winner of the Intercollegiate Beethoven Piano Competition, as well as various concerto performances at St. John’s Smith Square. When I was in the preparation process to record this video, the time I was going through wasn’t very uplifting or encouraging.
