Elliot Gresty (clarinet): The Musicians’ Company #MiddayMusic

Elliot Gresty (clarinet) joined the Musicians' Company Young Artists' Programme after he won a Musicians' Company award in 2018. He went on to win our Prince's Prize in 2019. Here he performs Hurlstone's Four Characteristic Pieces. Elliot writes: "Here I perform the four characteristic pieces by William Hurlstone (1876–1906), which I feel deserve to be better known because they really are great pieces of music, containing beautiful melodies and moments of real excitement. The four pieces are titled Ballade, Croon Song, Intermezzo and Scherzo. I began studying at the Royal College of Music in 2014 learning with Richard Hosford, Timothy Lines, Barnaby Robson and Peter Sparks, where I have won the clarinet and bass clarinet prizes. I was the winner of the 2018 Royal Overseas League award for a Woodwind Player of Promise and the 2019 Musicians' Company Prince’s Prize. I have played professionally with London Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and is currently on trial for the position Sub Principal Clarinet with the Welsh National Opera." -------------------------------------------------- Musicians' Company Profiles - http://www.wcom.org.uk/yeoman/elliot-gresty About our Musicians' Company awards - http://www.wcom.org.uk/awards/musicians-company-awards-including-busenhart-morgan-evans-and-david-goldman-awards About our Prince's Prize - http://www.wcom.org.uk/awards/the-princes-prize-competed-for-by-the-companys-prize-winners About our Musicians' Company Award - http://www.wcomarchive.org.uk/--allcard-funds Musicians' Company Interview (2019) - http://www.wcom.org.uk/news/yeoman-elliot-gresty-on-competing-for-success Elliot's Instagram - http://www.instagram.com/elliotgrestyclarinet -------------------------------------------------- Join our weekly #MiddayMusic e-news at http://eepurl.com/dv0ccr #MiddayMusic is supported by funds from the Musicians' Company’s Prince’s Prize which received a generous endowment in 2015 from The Eranda Rothschild Foundation and Rothschilds Bank, in memory of Leopold de Rothschild, a Liveryman of the Musicians’ Company for over 50 years.
