Ugnius Pauliukonis (piano): The Musicians’ Company #MiddayMusic

Ugnius Pauliukonis joined the Musicians' Company Young Artists' Programme after winning our Silver Medal at the #RoyalNorthernCollegeofMusic in 2017. Here he performs Debussy's Clair de Lune and Reflections in the Water, and Davrionas's The First Snowflakes. Ugnius says: "I am a pianist, chamber musician and educator. My performances range from Early Baroque to late 20th and 21st century music. I am particularly interested in native musical voices in the music of those by Haydn, Chopin and Debussy. I am also a keen piano educator creating video tutorials on wide variety of topics on my YouTube Channel (details below). Over the last few months we had been in lockdown, and quite frankly not being able to head to the British countryside felt somewhat difficult both psychologically and physically for me. These few pieces in the recording do remind me of those beautiful waterfalls of Wales, wide horizons of the Peak District or the peaceful and snowy hills in the Lake District. The music here in my opinion perfectly recreates those vivid pictures." -------------------------------------------------- Musicians' Company Profile - http://www.wcom.org.uk/yeoman/ugnius-pauliukonis About our Silver Medals - http://www.wcomarchive.org.uk/--silver-medals Ugnius's Website - http://www.ugniuspauliukonis.com Ugnius's Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/UgniusPiano Ugnius's Twitter - http://twitter.com/UgniusU Ugnius's Instagram - http://www.instagram.com/ugnius.pianist Ugnius's YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAVUf-IJzgdAtroNGfxERVw -------------------------------------------------- Join our weekly #MiddayMusic e-news at http://eepurl.com/dv0ccr #MiddayMusic is supported by funds from the Musicians' Company’s Prince’s Prize which received a generous endowment in 2015 from The Eranda Rothschild Foundation and Rothschilds Bank, in memory of Leopold de Rothschild, a Liveryman of the Musicians’ Company for over 50 years.
