Livery Club visit to Glyndebourne

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the John Christie Award, the Livery Club has arranged a very special day at Glyndebourne.

The John Christie Award is Glyndebourne’s most prestigious award, given annually for a scholarship for advanced study to a singer, producer, conductor or repetiteur, supported by the Worshipful Company of Musicians.  The Award was established in 1965 and endowed by Cyril Davis (Court Member 1976-1983).  Past winners have included Ryland Davies, Richard Van Allan, Linda Esther Gray, Sir John Tomlinson, Gerald Finley, Alfie Boe, Kate Royal, Matthew Rose, Allan Clayton, Duncan Rock, David Butt Philip, Louise Alder and James Newby.  The Award is named after the founder of Glyndebourne, who was an Honorary Freeman of the Company.
The programme for the day will be:
11.00   Tea/Coffee in the Organ Room.
11.30   Recital in the Organ Room by last year’s winner of the John Christie Award, Henna Mun, with piano accompaniment.
12.15   Three course lunch in the Mildmay Restaurant with wine, tea and coffee.
1.30     Backstage Tour.

Tickets for the day will cost £135.00 per person, to include coach transfer from Lewes Station to Glyndebourne, tea/coffee on arrival, recital by Henna Mun with a pianist, three course lunch in the Mildmay Restaurant and a backstage tour, coach transfer back to Lewes Station. Numbers are limited to 50 and you may bring a guest.

Please note that the backstage tour will require some climbing of steep stairs to access the stage.
Free parking is available at Glyndebourne if you wish to drive.
