Tamila Salimdjanova joined the Musicians' Company Young Artists' Programme after winning our Maisie Lewis Artists' Fund in 2019. Here she performs two Impromptus by Schubert. Tamila says: "For my Musicians’ Company #MiddayMusic recording I chose to perform two Impromptus by Schubert. I hope the beauty of these pieces will make someone’s day a little lighter during this tough and uncertain time in the world. I was born in Tashkent and began my studies at the Uspensky Music School with renowned Tamara Popovich at the age of 7. I have graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory under the guidance of Professor Irina Plotnikova. In 2019 I graduated from the #RoyalCollegeofMusic with a Bachelor of Music degree, Master of Performance and Artists Diploma under the tutelage of and Vanessa Latarche. My recent awards include top prizes at the BNDES International Piano Competition, #BirminghamInternationalPianoCompetition and Lagny-sur-Marne International Piano Competition.
