Biography

Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), I have graduated from the MA in Advance Opera Course of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) where I studied with Donald Maxwell and Michael Pollock. I am a PhD student in international economic relations at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Ukraine).

My studies at the RWCMD have been supported by The Leverhulme Trust scholarship, The Waterloo foundation, The Rajeswari Schorlaship, The Alan Rogers Scholarship and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa Foundation. I am a recipient of the Independent Opera Voice Fellowship 2018; Opera Award Foundation bursary 2018; I was awarded a Silver Medal from the Worshipful Company of Musicians of London 2018.

I started my vocal training with the Ukrainian baritone Orest Sydyr, in 2012, and then in 2015, I have continued my training with Professor Bogdan Bazylykut at Ivan Franco National University of Lviv (Ukraine).

Within Conductors and directors, I have worked with Carlo Rizzi, Gareth Jones, Wyn Davies, David Jones, Martin Constantine and William Kentridge in his new piece “The Head and the Load”. Also, I took part in master classes with John Fisher, Kathryn Harries, David Gowland, Gary Coward, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Grace Bumbry.

In 2015, I was finalist in the BBC Cardiff Singer of World competition (UK) and I won the first prize in the Impreza International Vocal Competition (Ukraine).

My repertoire includes Sarastro (Magic flute), Don Magnifico (La Cenerentola), Don Basilio (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Sparafucile and Monterone (Rigoletto), Frazier (Porgy and Bess), Luka (The Bear),Somnus (Semele), Olsen (Street Scene), Gremin (Eugene Onegin), Der Tod (Der Kaiser von Atlantis) and Simone (Gianni Schicchi with WNO orchestra, under the baton of Carlo Rizzi).

In concert platform and oratorios, Verdi’s Requiem and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria.

My future plan includes Porgy for the Dutch National Opera (DNO), Samuel in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera for the YAP of Opera Holland Park, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solonelle with Wycliffe Chorale Society, Alidoro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola for West Green House Opera and Sparafucile in Rigoletto for Opera Holland Park.
