Biography

Connor is currently studying percussion and Timpani at the Royal College of Music with Alex Neal, Matt Perry and Chris Ridley as a Musicians’ Company Scholar. Before starting his studies at the RCM, Connor was a percussionist with the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra from 2011 – 2017, serving as principal percussionist from 2014. Since coming to the RCM, Connor has been involved with many exciting projects, including a performance of the Planets suite at Queen Elizabeth Hall with the RCM Symphony Orchestra. He has also had the opportunity to work with world class conductors such as Holly Mathieson, Rafael Payare and Andrew Gourlay. In the Summer of 2019 Connor was awarded the Joy Hockings prize for percussion. In August 2019 Connor was the Musical Director of RicNic Hampshire Theatre company in their production of Thoroughly Modern Millie, having previously worked with the company as Assistant Musical Director in 2018 and as a percussionist in 2017. September 2019 will mark the start of Connor’s third year at the RCM on the BMus course.
