Biography

Jack Holton has recently completed the Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama under John Evans, and is the grateful recipient of The Anne Pashley Opera Scholarship, Help Musicians Sybil Tutton Opera Award, an Opera Awards Foundation Bursary, and the Musicians’ Company 2022 Saloman Seelig Award.

Previous roles include Count Anckarström in Un ballo in maschera (Opera Holland Park – Young Artist); Le Podestat in Le docteur Miracle and Le Baron de Pictordu in Cendrillon (GSMD); Don Parmenione in L’occasione fa il ladro (British Youth Opera); Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls (West Green House Opera); Title role in Don Giovanni (for Rogue Opera and The Merry Opera Company); Title role in Eugene Onegin (Oxford Alternative Orchestra/The People’s Opera); 3rd Bandit in Don Quichotte (Wexford Festival Opera); The Count in The Marriage of Figaro (Hewletts Opera).

In 2022 at GSMD Jack has performed as Simon in Miss Fortune; Ben Upthegrove in The Telephone; and Der Zar in Der Zar lässt sich photographieren. At Opera Holland Park Jack  performed the role of La Poigne in Margot la Rouge, and Master Page in Sir John in Love for British Youth Opera.

Jack joins the National Opera Studio as a Young Artist in September 2022.
