Biography

Jani Silva is currently a Masters percussion student at the Royal Academy of Music. Making her debut as a soloist with the Classical Orchestra of Madeira in 2018, Jani is now working/studying with some of the best percussionists in the music world such as Colin Currie, Joe Locke and top orchestral musicians. Her current teachers are Andrew Barclay (LPO principal percussionist) and Tony Bedewi (BBC Symphony Orchestra principal timpanist).
Throughout her studies she has participated in several masterclasses with prestigious percussionists and is now a guest orchestral percussionist of the Norfolk Symphony Orchestra and the London Shostakovich Orchestra. Jani is sponsored by The Biddy Baxter-John Hosier Music Trust Special Award and by The Countess of Munster Trust, having also received an Entrance Scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music.
