Biography

Scottish Mezzo Soprano, Katie Coventry is an ENO Harewood Artist and a recent graduate from the Royal College of Music International Opera School where she studied with Tim Evan-Jones as a recipient of an Independent Opera Voice Scholarship.   She is the 2017 winner of the Joaninha Award.  Katie graduated with First Class Honours in History and Music from Royal Holloway and was awarded the Alice Dougherty Chaplin Prize.   She then began her studies at the RCM where she received her Masters of Performance with Distinction.

Recent engagements include cover Marnie and Shadow Marnie 2 Marnie (English National Opera), cover Annio La Clemenza di Tito (Glyndebourne Festival Opera), Edith Pirates of Penzance (English National Opera) and for RCMIOS include Ramiro La Finta Giardiniera, Hänsel Hänsel und Gretel, Prince Orlofsky Die Fledermaus, Nancy Albert Herring, Zweiter Knabe Die Zauberflöte and L’Écureuil and La Chatte L’enfant et les sortilèges. Other roles include Ariodante Ariodante (London Handel Festival), Kate Julian Owen Wingrave, The Fox The Cunning Little Vixen (British Youth Opera), Mazet La Colombe (Opera Danube/ West Green House Opera) and Stephano Roméo et Juliette (Opera Bearwood).

Upcoming performances include Cherubino Marriage of Figaro (ENO) and Jennie Hildebrand Street Scene (Teatro Real Madrid).
