London Central Brass are an exciting new name in the Chamber Music world. The Ensemble (formed in 2022) was founded by students across both the Royal Academy and College of Music, looking to pursue their passion for high quality brass chamber music.
In the summer of 2023, the group would go on to win the 1st prize at the Philip Jones International Brass Ensemble Competition as well as the ‘Onyx Brass’ award for creative programming. Since then, the group have performed all over the United Kingdom and Europe with recent highlights including recitals at the Lucerne Festival, Wigmore Hall and the Lake District Music Festival.
London Central Brass have a passion for promoting new compositions from both established and up and coming composers. They have performed many new works for the ensemble, including the world premiere of Philip Cashian’s ‘Brass Quintet’ at the Royal Academy of Music. The group have also performed many of their own arrangements, most recently including a wild interpretation of Ravel’s ‘La Valse’.
