Biography

Born in Lithuania in 1991, Ugnius studied at the Ciurlionis School of Arts under Donaldas Racys in Vilnius. In 2010 he moved to the UK to study at the Royal Northern College of Music where he is currently on the International Artist Diploma course with Graham Scott and privately with Andrew Wilde.

During his studies Ugnius has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Recital Prize, Solo recipient of RNCM Gold Medal, the Schubert and Mark Ray Prizes and is a prize winner of the international Amy Brant piano competition.

As a soloist Ugnius has appeared with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, Kaunas Symphony Orchestra and Manchester Beethoven Symphony Orchestra. He has given solo and chamber music recitals in Lithuania, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, Latvia and Estonia including the Kaunas Philharmonic Hall (Lithuania), Bridgewater Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Lake District Summer Music, Ribchester Festivals to name a few.

Ugnius is a member of ‘Confero’ Piano Quartet and plays concerts in Lithuania, Germany and France.
