André Nadais (percussion): The Musicians’ Company #MiddayMusic

André Nadais joined the Musicians' Company Young Artists' Programme after he was awarded our Silver Medal at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2019. Here he performs 'Hymning' by Robert Honstein. André says: "I studied at the Music Conservatoire of Jobra and the Royal Northern College of Music where I won an ABRSM Scholarship. Currently I am studying for a prestigious International Artist Diploma at the RNCM. I have performed in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, England, Wales and China. Here I perform 'Hymning' by Robert Honstein. A hymn is a type of song, usually religious, specifically written for the purpose of adoration or prayer. Directly or indirectly almost everyone grew up listening to hymns. I am not a religious person, but somehow they stuck with me. That is what makes me like hymns, because they have always been there even if sometimes you do not realise that. Maybe because of their simplicity and purity they never failed to reach me. As the composer says - They are like an old friend: we don’t keep in touch so well, but every time we see each other we pick up right where we left off. This hymn for me represents that exact idea. That when all the situation improves we will pick up right where we left off. It is almost like a message that everything will get better, and that we will all be back in a concert hall soon." -------------------------------------------------- Musicians' Company Profile - http://www.wcom.org.uk/yeoman/andre-nadais About The Musicians' Company Silver Medals - http://www.wcomarchive.org.uk/--silver-medals André's Website - http://www.andrenadais.com André's Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/Andre-Nadais-Percussion-1859860060904119/ André's Instagram - http://www.instagram.com/andrenadais11 André's YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC7Ig1COXVOZdCMRLZ8vPd7g -------------------------------------------------- Join our weekly #MiddayMusic e-news at http://eepurl.com/dv0ccr #MiddayMusic is supported by funds from the Musicians' Company’s Prince’s Prize which received a generous endowment in 2015 from The Eranda Rothschild Foundation and Rothschilds Bank, in memory of Leopold de Rothschild, a Liveryman of the Musicians’ Company for over 50 years.
