Roman Kosyakov (piano): The Musicians’ Company #MiddayMusic

Roman Kosyakov joined our Young Artists' Programme after he was awarded our Silver Medal at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in 2018. Here he performs Schumann's Arabesque op.18 in C major. Roman writes: "I have chosen a small but mighty miniature by Schumann called «Arabesque» op.18 because this piece is full of different types of emotion. You can easily find yours in there, whether it is excitement or something more calm and thoughtful: courage and bravery, or shyness and fears, enjoyment of life, cherished memories of the past or delicate sadness. You could name many more in this small and expressive piece, but the main theme of all of this is sincere love and the human hope for the best." Roman Kosyakov studies at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire on a full scholarship with Pascal Nemirovski. He won the prestigious 2018 Hastings International Piano Concerto Competition, and the Orchestra Prize performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No 1 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (2018, UK). He is a winner of Denis Matthews Memorial Trust award, Kirckman Concert Society Artist and a scholar of the Drake Calleja Trust. In Summer 2019 Roman recorded a debut CD for Naxos with works by Liszt. -------------------------------------------------- Musicians' Company Profile - About The Musicians' Company Silver Medals - Roman's Instagram - Roman's Twitter - Roman's YouTube - -------------------------------------------------- Join our weekly #MiddayMusic e-news at #MiddayMusic is supported by funds from the Musicians' Company’s Prince’s Prize which received a generous endowment in 2015 from The Eranda Rothschild Foundation and Rothschilds Bank, in memory of Leopold de Rothschild, a Liveryman of the Musicians’ Company for over 50 years.
