Biography

Joshua Lascar is a French-American composer, guitarist, and composer’s assistant. He has performed on BBC Radio Wales, for HRH The Prince of Wales, and in venues around the world. Likewise, he composes and records for Film/TV, production music, and games. His recent work includes scoring a short film broadcasted on S4C, through the It’s My Shout scheme, and composing additional music through Jordan Rees. In 2021, he graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD) with a first class honors in Jazz guitar, where he was also awarded the Principal’s Award for Music. At RWCMD, he gained the opportunity to be mentored closely by world-class artist Gilad Hekselman. Likewise, he studied Jazz with Ant Law, Tom Ollendorff, Jez Franks, Geoff Simkins, and Alex Meritt. He also studied composition with Dr. Owen Lloyd and Steve Waterman. As a composer, he blends his background in jazz guitar with a love for ambient music and synthesizers. He uses this to compose for media and independently as an artist too, both for produced and live settings.
