Biography

Nikita Burzanitsa was born into a family of musicians in Donetsk, Ukraine. He began his piano lessons at the age of 7 with Professor Nataliya Chesnokova and subsequently studied at Wells Cathedral School and the Donetsk State Conservatory. In 2017 he received a Double Scholarship and the Milstein Medal to study at the Royal College of Music, and in 2021 the ABRSM Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship enabled him to study for his Masters degree at RCM.

He has been a keen participant in international festivals and competitions, including, most recently, winning First Prize at the Làszlò Spezzaferri International Music Competition in Italy; the Moscow International Music Competition; the Nouvelles Étoiles International Music Competition in Paris, and the Virtuoso category of the Vienna Music Competition.

Mikita has taken part in masterclasses with piano greats including Stephen Hough, Barry Douglas and Mitsuko Uchida, and is a keen recitalist and concerto performer.
